UNIPMA and Walailak University Thailand Sign MoU, Strengthen International Education Collaboration 

Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) officially established an international partnership with Walailak University Thailand through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) held at the Meeting Room, UNIPMA Campus I, on Tuesday, 27/05/2025.

This MoU signing marks a significant milestone in expanding UNIPMA's international network, particularly in the fields of education, research, and academic exchange. Both parties agreed to establish a strategic collaboration that includes student and faculty exchanges, joint research, and the development of curricula that are adaptive to global challenges.

In his remarks, UNIPMA Rector, Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., emphasized the importance of cross-country collaboration to improve education quality. “The advancement of an institution does not happen in isolation. It requires openness, collaboration, and interconnectedness to respond to the challenges of our time. That’s why partnerships like this are a meaningful step to broaden intellectual horizons and solidify our institutional role at the international level,” he stated.

From UNIPMA, the event was attended by several university leaders, including Dr. Elva Nuraini, S.E., M.Si. (Vice Rector for Academic Affairs), Dr. Jeffry Handhika, M.Si., M.Pd. (Vice Rector for Collaboration and Student Affairs), Dr. Rosita Ambarwati, S.S., M.Pd. (Vice Dean II of FKIP), Dr. Siska Diana Sari, S.H., M.H. (Dean of Faculty of Law), Nasrul Rofiah Hidayati, S.T., M.Pd. (Dean of Faculty of Engineering), Dr. drh. Cicilia Novi Primiani, S.Pd., M.Pd. (Dean of Faculty of Sports and Science), Dr. Sri Lestari, S.Pd., M.Pd. (Head of BKH), Brigitta Septarini Rahmasari, S.S., M.Pd. (International Division), as well as representatives from the Bureau of Cooperation and Public Relations.

Meanwhile, the delegation from Walailak University included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Charan Boonyakan (Vice President), Prof. Dr. Narin Sangraksa (Acting Dean, School of Education), Dr. Phongphan Khamphan (Acting Deputy Dean, School of Education), Asst. Prof. Dr. Kiki Juli Anggoro (Acting Assistant Dean for International Affairs), and Ms. Treenuch Chaowanakritsanakul (Acting Head of Language Teaching, School of Education).

In his speech, Vice President of Walailak University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Charan Boonyakan, emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary synergy. “This collaboration will bring together the strengths of literacy, science, technology, and information engineering to work in harmony in shaping a resilient generation of learners in the global era,” he said.

The event concluded with the exchange of souvenirs as a symbol of respect and friendship between the two institutions. The series of events continued with a campus tour and a guest lecture session, adding extra value to this visit.

The signing of this MoU marks the beginning of UNIPMA’s continued commitment to expanding its international reach and building a dynamic, open, and globally competitive academic ecosystem.
