Colorful Kartini Day 2025 at UNIPMA: Traditional Costume Parade Amazes the Audience 

The vibrant hues of archipelagic art blended with the spirit of emancipation at the courtyard of Campus I, Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA), on Monday, April 21, 2025. Hundreds of eyes were captivated by the performances of participants in a fashion show themed “Emulating Critical Thinking and Noble Character in Promoting Literacy and Education.”

Participants, consisting of male and female pairs, appeared in group formations representing various study programs. With confidence, they walked the red carpet, showcasing the beauty of traditional clothing while embodying the noble values of Indonesian culture.

More than just about costumes, the judges assessed the performances based on the harmony between the pairs, relevance to the theme, and how well they presented themselves in front of the audience. From the teams that participated, the winners were announced as follows:

Study Program Category:

  • 1st Place: English Language Education (PBI)

  • 2nd Place: Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD)

  • 3rd Place: Teacher Professional Education (PPG)

Bureau Category:

  • 1st Place: Bureau of Vice Rector I

  • 2nd Place: Bureau of Vice Rector II

The event received high appreciation from the UNIPMA leadership. Vice Rector II, Dr. Marheny Lukitasari, M.Pd., in her interview, expressed that such activities are a form of collaboration and unity across all campus elements. “Through this event, we cultivate artistic and cultural diversity while fostering a creative mindset within the field of education,” she said.

One of the participants, Hendra Setiawan, S.E., M.M., expressed his pride in being part of the event. “This fashion show is not just about appearance, but also about introducing the richness of Indonesian culture. I hope this event returns next year with even greater excitement,” he remarked.

More than just a creative showcase, this fashion competition also served as a reflective moment to commemorate the struggle of Raden Ajeng Kartini in championing women's rights in Indonesia. With Kartini’s spirit, the entire academic community of UNIPMA is expected to continue contributing to cultural preservation, strengthening national values, and advancing education.
