UNIPMA Students Contribute to National Strategic Project at Kidorobot

Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) continues to fully support its students in developing skills and insights in the industrial world. Through the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) internship program, two students from the Electrical Engineering Study Program, Muhammad Fajar and Wahyu Trisna Prayoga, had the opportunity to participate in an internship at Kidorobot, a children’s robotics and coding course institution based in Malang, East Java. The internship took place from July to November 2024.

During their internship, both students were involved in various strategic projects. Muhammad Fajar was responsible for 3D model design, 3D printing, and PCB component fabrication and assembly.

Meanwhile, Wahyu Trisna Prayoga focused on Arduino programming, developing educational modules for kindergarten and elementary school students. They also contributed to the development of teaching materials prepared by Electrical Engineering Education students, as well as branding and advertising projects for Kidorobot.

“At Kidorobot, we learned many new things—from 3D design and operating 3D printing machines to assembling components on PCBs. We also contributed to accelerating production targets, such as duplicating learning robots and compiling instructional guides for students,” said Muhammad Fajar on Monday, March 24, 2025.

The internship provided not only technical experience but also enhanced their teamwork and workplace discipline. Throughout the program, they were supervised by Mr. Bayu Fandidarna, S.T., M.T., a faculty member from UNIPMA’s Electrical Engineering Department, and mentored by Kidorobot professionals Mr. Edwin Aditya Herbanu, S.ST., M.T., Mr. Widya Gigih, and Mr. Ganesa.

Wahyu Trisna Prayoga expressed his gratitude for the opportunity provided by the university. “This program was fully supported by the campus. About 70% of our expenses—including travel, living costs, and return expenses—were funded by the university. We are truly grateful for the care and support given,” he said.

During the internship, the students received a warm welcome from the Kidorobot team and intensive mentoring to sharpen their industrial skills. On their final day, they were highly praised for their contributions and dedication.

“We are truly thankful for the valuable knowledge and experience we gained during our internship at Kidorobot. We hope this experience will benefit us in the future and inspire us to keep growing,” Fajar concluded.
