Madiun PGRI University Increases International Cooperation for Sustainable MSME Development
Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) is further strengthening its international cooperation network through the International Academic Program, which was successfully held with KRIRK University, Thailand. This activity was held on 21-23 August 2024 and included a series of important events, ranging from international guest lectures to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), to community service focused on empowering MSMEs through the Muslim Business Matching (MBM) Institute. Nik Amah, S.E., M.Sc., CTT., CSRS, a UNIPMA lecturer, was trusted to be a speaker in the visiting lecturer session. On that occasion, he presented material on the theme "Local Wisdom for Sustainability Outcomes of Micro Business", which is part of his research results entitled "Frugal Strategy Based on Javanese Philosophy 'Gemi, Nastiti, Ngati-ati' to Support Sustainability Outcomes of MSMEs in Madiun City." Through this lecture, Mrs. Nik Amah, S.E., M.Sc., CTT., CSRS hopes to introduce the concept of local wisdom that can be applied by MSMEs to achieve better sustainability.
"This program not only supports the Tri Dharma of Higher Education but also plays a major role in the development of MSMEs at the international level. By prioritizing Javanese philosophy that has been proven to support sustainability, we hope to make a real contribution, especially for micro entrepreneurs in Madiun City." Said Nik Amah, S.E., M.Sc., CTT., CSRS, in his interview on Monday, 02/17/2025.
In addition to guest lectures, this activity also includes International Community Service, which focuses on empowering MSMEs. Through collaboration with the MBM Institute, participants are given an understanding of sustainable business strategies based on local wisdom values to increase the competitiveness and sustainability of their businesses.
Not to forget, this activity also includes a visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Bangkok, which strengthens diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Thailand and opens up wider opportunities for international cooperation in the fields of education and economics.
"The main objective of this program is to expand the network of international cooperation between Universitas PGRI Madiun and educational institutions abroad, as well as to provide a positive impact on the development of MSMEs through an approach based on local wisdom," Nik Amah added.
With this International Academic Program, UNIPMA not only improves the quality of education but also makes a major contribution to sustainable economic development. This program is expected to strengthen university accreditation and encourage more sustainable growth of MSMEs, both in Indonesia and internationally.
