UNIPMA Holds Training for Lecturers to Master English in Facing Global Education
Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) continues to strengthen its commitment to improving the quality of higher education through various international programs. One of these is the provision of Lecturer Teaching Skills in English training, held as preparation for lecturers to face the International Credit Transfer (ICT) program.
This program aims to improve the competence of UNIPMA lecturers in teaching using English, which has become increasingly important as UNIPMA collaborates with several renowned universities in Asia, such as Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (Philippines), Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (Philippines), and Universiti Teknologi Mara (Malaysia).
The training, which took place from February 10 to 14, 2025, provided materials on English-based teaching techniques, effective communication strategies in international classrooms, and the preparation of teaching materials that align with global academic standards. In addition, the lecturers also underwent teaching simulations to refine their skills with direct feedback from experienced mentors.
UNIPMA's Rector, Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd, in his speech emphasized that this program is a strategic step to enhance UNIPMA's academic competitiveness on the international stage. "We want to ensure that UNIPMA lecturers are ready to face global challenges. With improved teaching skills, the ICT program will bring significant benefits to our students and our institution," he said.
Training participants, including Dr. Elly’s Marsina Mursidik, expressed that the training provided many benefits. "We not only learned how to teach in English but also gained an understanding of international academic culture, which helps create a more inclusive and effective learning environment," she said.
With high enthusiasm, UNIPMA plans to expand cooperation with more international universities and regularly hold similar training programs. It is hoped that with an increasing number of lecturers mastering English, UNIPMA students will have more opportunities to gain global academic experiences.
With this, UNIPMA further proves its existence as a university ready to adapt to global changes and actively contribute to improving the quality of higher education in Indonesia.
