Shaping the Future of Education: The Role of Students in New Student Admissions at Universitas PGRI Madiun

As part of its efforts to strengthen the new student admissions process, Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) continuously provides top-notch information and services to prospective students. One innovative step taken is involving students in internships at the New Student Admissions Office (PMB), playing a crucial role in supporting administrative efficiency and university promotion.

This internship program offers students the opportunity to engage directly in various activities, helping not only prospective students but also contributing to the development of the university. One of the interns, Daffa Mahendra, a Physics Education student, shared how this experience provided him with new insights into educational administration and promotion.

“This internship gave me the chance to delve deeper into educational administration and professional service to prospective students. Moreover, I learned the importance of branding and promotion in attracting new students,” Daffa stated during an interview on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

During the internship period, the students participated in a range of promotional activities, from managing social media and attending educational fairs to guiding prospective students in accessing information about study programs, scholarships, and career prospects. All these efforts aim to increase awareness of Universitas PGRI Madiun as a high-quality educational choice.

Under the guidance of Dr. Muh. Waskito Ardhi, S.Pd., M.Pd., Head of the PMB Office, the interns received comprehensive direction and performance evaluations. In this process, the interns played an active role in preparing activity reports, which were instrumental in management-level decision-making.

The results were promising. A well-planned promotional strategy led to a significant increase in new student applications. Additionally, streamlined administrative processes left prospective students highly satisfied with the services provided.

This internship experience is expected to enhance students' communication and administrative skills, which will be valuable in their future professional careers. Overall, the internship program not only benefits the participants but also contributes to the university's efforts to attract quality students.

The internship program at the PMB Office of Universitas PGRI Madiun serves as a tangible example of how students actively support the success of the new student admissions process while showcasing the university as a top choice for those seeking higher education opportunities.
