Comprehensive Review of Thesis Title Submission and Writing Guidelines, KIM Cendekia Student Organization Holds Webinar 

UNIPMA – The Student Activity Unit (UKM) of Scientific Writing (KIM) Cendekia, Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA), held the 3S Webinar (Spot The Gap, Shape The Plan, Start The Process) with the theme “Comprehensive Review of Thesis Title Submission and Chapter 1 Writing” via Zoom Meeting on Saturday (30/5). The event aimed to provide students with an understanding of the early stages of thesis writing, particularly in determining research titles and preparing Chapter 1 in accordance with the research method used.

The webinar organized by the Research and Development Division of UKM KIM Cendekia was attended by students of Universitas PGRI Madiun as well as students from various other universities. The event was also attended by the supervisor of UKM KIM Cendekia, Sendy Dwi Haryanto, S.Pd., M.A., CSRS., CSRA., Cert.DA., along with the management and members of UKM KIM Cendekia.

Lefi Alisa Fibriana as the head of the committee stated in an interview that the webinar was held in response to the fact that many students still experience difficulties in determining research titles and writing Chapter 1 of their thesis. “This webinar was held to address various challenges still faced by students in the early stages of thesis writing,” she said.

In its implementation, the webinar featured three speakers discussing different research methods. The quantitative research material was delivered by Sendy Dwi Haryanto, S.Pd., M.A., CSRS., CSRA., Cert.DA. Meanwhile, qualitative research material was presented by Dr. Ermi Adriani Meikayati, M.Pd., and Classroom Action Research (CAR) material was delivered by Dr. Sri Lestari, S.Pd., M.Pd.

The speakers explained strategies for determining research topics, identifying research-worthy problems, and composing research backgrounds according to the characteristics of each method. In addition, participants also gained an understanding of formulating research problems, research objectives, and the structure of Chapter 1 writing.

Through this webinar, UKM KIM Cendekia hopes that participants can improve their understanding of thesis writing so they will be better prepared to complete their final assignments. This activity is also expected to serve as a learning platform that helps students prepare research proposals in a more structured and systematic way.
