Amidst the joy, the hope to continue fighting for equality and justice for women, as Kartini Day's spirit, never fades. May this spirit continue to flourish and inspire us all to create a better future, where every woman has equal opportunities to excel and achieve in all fields.

Kartini is one of the national heroes who contributed to the advancement of women's lives in Indonesia. The establishment of Kartini Day on April 21st began when President Soekarno issued a Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia. The purpose of commemorating Kartini Day is to honour and commemorate the struggle of R.A. Kartini to achieve equal opportunities between men and women in the modern era, particularly in the field of education, and gender equality in all fields in general.

This celebration should contain profound meanings regarding women's emancipation and remind the entire Indonesian society to consistently strive for gender justice. While advocating for gender equality, this woman figure, born on April 21st, 1879, often corresponded with her friends in the Netherlands, namely Rosa Abendanon and Estelle Zeehandelaar. Eventually, the collection of letters written by R.A. Kartini was compiled by her friend Abendanon and titled "Door Duisternis tot Licht," which means "Out of Darkness Comes Light".
