UNIPMA Biology Education Study Program Holds Research Proposal Preparation Workshop for Students

UNIPMA's grand project in 2025 is to become a center for research and innovation with a reputation. The effort to achieve this target is to encourage lecturers and students to be active in the field of research in their scientific fields. Lecturers and students are the main human resources who must be active in producing intellectual products and publications. One of the activities to support the UNIPMA grand project is the Research Proposal Preparation Workshop for Biology Education students. This activity is fully supported through funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture through a grant from the Independent Campus Competition Program (PKKM).

The workshop, which was held by the Biology Education study program, was held on November 18, 2022. The participants were all 90 Biology Education students and lecturers. This activity was presented by speaker Mr. Trio Ageng Prayitno, M.Pd. lecturer and Editor in Chief of the Edubiotic Journal of IKIP Budi Utomo Malang. The purpose of this activity is to provide provision for the preparation of research proposals for students with current biology research themes in line with the challenges of the times. "This activity is not only for 7th semester students who will be doing their thesis, but also for 1st, 3rd, and 5th semester students so that students can prepare research proposals from the start of the semester," said Dr. Marheny Lukitasari, M.Pd. activity PICs.

The materials presented by the speakers are research trends in the field of biology education, reference sources that can be used, and how to prepare research proposals. This activity was carried out interactively in the UNIPMA integrated laboratory. Students are very active in asking questions related to the research theme they want to develop. "The ideas and themes of student research are very diverse in the fields of biology, education, zoology, microbiology, botany, and various other fields. This is a potential capital in producing proposals and research products," said Trio Ageng Prayitno, M.Pd. as a presenter.

In addition to materials for preparing research proposals, this activity was also accompanied by delivery and assistance from Dr. Wachidatul Linda Yuhanna, M.Si in directing student research proposals to outputs in the form of published articles in reputable journals. Students are given insight into the importance of publishing research results so that they can benefit other researchers and the community. This activity hopes to increase the number of research and publications produced by lecturers and students to support Key Performance Indicators (IKU) toward superior tertiary institutions
