LPPM UNIPMA Holds Provision of KKN-T BKKBN Students 

The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) in collaboration with the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) held a Proud Kencana KKN 2023 debriefing on Floor 4 Campus 3 UNIPMA on Thursday (22/12/2022).

The event was opened by the Chancellor of UNIPMA, Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd. which was followed by an introduction from the Head of KKN, Dr. Erlik Widiyani Styati, M.Pd before entering the material. He said that there were 150 BKKBN KKN-T participants with 10 Field Supervisors (DPL).

This activity was attended by the Coordinator of Dalduk for East Java BKKBN Representative Uni Hidayati ST MM who represented the Head of East Java BKKBN Representative. He said on that occasion that the World Health Organization (WHO) defines stunting as growth and development failure experienced by children due to insufficient nutritional intake for a long time, recurrent infectious diseases and inadequate psychosocial stimulation.

Then the event continued with material presented by Toma Afriandi, SH, M.Sc. he is the Sub-Coordinator of Population Education Cooperation, BKKBN Representative for East Java Province. He explained the underlying strategic issues, what causes stunting, how to solve the stunting problem itself and the role of students in efforts to reduce stunting rates.

Toma Afriandi also explained the current condition of stunting in East Java. Including the prevalence of stunted toddlers (height for age) based on districts/cities in East Java Province, SSGI 2021.

Also attending the event was the Vice Chancellor for Research and Community Service, Dr. Bambang Eko Hari Cahyono, M.Pd. Head of LPPM UNIPMA, Dr. Fida Chasanatun, M.Pd. along with his staff, and Field Assistant Lecturers (DPL) and students.

It is hoped that this training will be able to provide an initial description of the KKN programs that will be carried out by students in an effort to increase success in empowering the surrounding community. (suci/hms)
