UNIPMA Holds PKKMB Online Opening: Achievements in a Pandemic Period 

Tuesday, September 7, 2021. As in the previous year, Universitas PGRI Madiun held a new student acceptance ceremony named Introduction to New Student Campus Life (PKKMB). However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation, the 2021/2022 Academic Year PKKMB will be conducted online. The PKKMB, which was held for eight days, Tuesday 7 September - Tuesday 14 September 2021, had the theme "Achieving in a Pandemic Period". Based on the report from the chairman of the PKKMB committee, Wawan Kokotiasa, S.IP., M.SI, the PKKMB was attended by 1,106 undergraduate students from various faculties.

The number of participants for each faculty include:

a. FKIP, 511 students

b. FT, 116 students

c. FIKS, 26 students

d. FEB, 381 students

e. FH, 22 students

With the beating of the gong, the activity was opened directly by the Chancellor of the PGRI Madiun University, Prof. Dr. H. Parji, M.Pd at the Graha Cendekia Building, and attended by the rectorate, Deputy Chancellors I, II, III, IV, Deans of faculties, Postgraduate Director and Chair of the PPLP Foundation PT PGRI Madiun, by implementing strict health protocols.

Online PKKMB activities were welcomed by Nadiem Anwar Makarim, M.B.A Minister of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, the Governor of East Java Province, represented by the Head of the East Java Education Office, Dr. Ir. Wahid Wahyudi, MT.

On this occasion, the Chancellor gave the alma mater coat symbolically to five new student representatives. Also the embedding of the New Student registration card.

For the debriefing of new students on the first day, various materials were delivered by competent speakers in their fields. The materials provided included the opening of the PKKMB by the PKKMB committee, Higher Education in the Industrial Revolution Era 4.0 and a new life after the pandemic (new normal) by the Chancellor of UNIPMA, Lectures on PPLP-PT PGRI Madiun by the Chairperson of PPLP PT PGRI Madiun, Free Learning Policy: Independent Campus by Vice Chancellor I, and Student Services by Vice Chancellor II.

In the speech of Prof. Dr. H. Parji, M.Pd., said that PKKMB is an important activity that provides briefing to new students so that they can adapt more quickly to the campus environment, especially learning and student activities. As well as introducing and adding insight to new students in the maximum use of academic facilities available on campus.

"I'm sure the PKKMB participants will not be disappointed when they enter UNIPMA, because UNIPMA has many achievements at the national level. One of them recently was phenomenal, UNIPMA won 20 National Competition Grants from the Ministry of Education and Culture, this is an honor for all of us, especially new students, "explained Prof. Parji.

The Chancellor of UNIPMA hopes that the pandemic will end soon so that these new students after completing the PKKMB can hold lectures face-to-face on campus.
