Outdoor Study: Delving into Education and Technology in Malang, East Java

Students from the Physics Community (KOMFI) of the Natural Sciences Education Study Program (IPA) at Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) held an outdoor study activity themed "Delving into Education and Technology in Malang" yesterday, Monday (20/10). This activity served as both a learning event and a means to strengthen camaraderie among students from semesters 1, 3, 5, and 7.

Laila Haming Tivahira, the head of the organizing committee, explained that this outdoor study had two main objectives. "First, to strengthen the bond of fellowship among different cohorts. Second, to broaden their perspective on the rapidly developing technology-based education in Malang," she said.

The series of activities began with a visit to Universitas Negeri Malang (UM). Participants had the opportunity to directly explore various modern practicum tools used in learning, such as 3D Printing and X-Ray equipment. In addition, students also interacted with the Student Association of the IPA Education Study Program (HMPS IPA) UM to share ideas and experiences in developing academic activities.

The next destination was the Virtual Immersive Park in the Jatim Park 2 area. Here, students experienced an immersive virtual environment through the 3D Aquarium ride. The sensation of being in a three-dimensional space provided a new experience and sparked inspiration.

"We started imagining creating a similar 3D space with a physics-based concept, for example, 3D astronomy showcasing celestial objects in one room," Laila mentioned.

Subsequently, the group visited Jatim Park 3 to enjoy the The Legend Stars and Milenial Glow Garden attractions. The evening atmosphere was further enlivened as they watched the Aqua Symphony, a stunning dancing fountain show resembling an attraction at Disneyland.

The activity was accompanied by Farida Huriawati, S.Si., M.Si., from the Physics Study Program, and Dr. Tantri Mayasari, M. Pd., from the IPA Study Program. Through this event, students not only gained out-of-class learning experiences but also fostered a spirit of togetherness and curiosity towards innovation in technology-based education.
