UNIPMA KKN 2024 Briefing: Rector Hopes Students Will Support Village Communities Using Their Academic Knowledge

The University of PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) is set to launch its Thematic Community Empowerment Field Study Program (KKN-T PM) for the 2024/2025 academic year, running from December 23, 2024, to February 1, 2025. Before students head directly to the field, UNIPMA's Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) held a preparatory briefing on December 4-5, 2024, at UNIPMA's Graha Cendekia.

Dr. Ratih Cristiana, M.Pd (Secretary of KKN-T PM UNIPMA) reported that 818 KKN-T PM participants were divided into 40 groups and would be stationed in villages across Magetan Regency.

The briefing aims to strengthen synergy among students, the community, the university, the government, and other stakeholders at the regional level. It also seeks to educate students on the importance of behavioral change and to inspire them to act as agents of transformation within society.

In his address, Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd (UNIPMA Rector), emphasized that students should leverage their academic knowledge to assist the rural communities where they will conduct their KKN. “Students must actively contribute to developing village potential and encourage the community to grow and improve their villages for greater prosperity,” he stated.

The Rector also shared three essential reminders for students to observe during their KKN:

  1. Be cautious at KKN locations, especially due to the rainy season.
  2. Prioritize safety during activities, particularly those conducted at night.
  3. Maintain UNIPMA’s good reputation. “Prove that UNIPMA is an excellent institution by fulfilling the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and upholding a positive campus image,” he added.

These guidelines aim to shape responsible, high-quality, and integrity-driven students.
