UNIPMA — Two students from the Information Systems Study Program at Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) contributed to the development of a digital training registration system for Small and Medium Industries (IKM) in Madiun City. Their contribution took place while they were undertaking an internship at the Madiun City Department of Manpower, Cooperatives, and Micro Enterprises (Disnaker KUKM).

Muhamad Noval and Onick Yoam H. were assigned to the Industrial Affairs Division and joined the information technology (IT) team. Both contributed to completing the development of the IKM JUARA registration website, particularly by improving and refining features according to service requirements.

The internship program took place from July 20 to September 20, 2026. During their placement, the students applied knowledge gained from several courses, including Web Programming, Database Systems, Computer Networks, and Information Systems Management.

Onick said that direct involvement in the project allowed him to apply knowledge acquired during his studies to address technical challenges in the workplace.

“The knowledge gained during lectures can be directly applied to completing tasks and solving problems in the work environment,” Onick said on Thursday (3/9).

In developing IKM JUARA, the students continued an existing project by improving and refining the required features. The system is intended to support the training registration process for IKM business owners.

The work provided the students with experience in adapting system development to user needs. They not only handled technical aspects but also gained an understanding of digital service processes within a government institution.

In addition to working on system development, Noval and Onick assisted with recording incoming correspondence in the Industrial Affairs Division. This assignment provided them with additional experience in administration and institutional workflows.

Onick acknowledged that adapting to the workplace was one of the challenges during the internship. He needed to adjust to the work environment and establish communication with employees in the Industrial Affairs Division.

Beyond technical skills, the experience also helped develop their sense of responsibility, discipline, communication, teamwork, and adaptability.

Onick hopes that the system they helped develop will continue to benefit the institution and the community, particularly business owners in Madiun City.

“We hope that the project we helped complete will benefit the relevant institution and the community, especially business owners in Madiun City,” he said.

During their assignment, the students were under the coordination of Yanuar Priambodo, S.Sos. From UNIPMA, the internship was supervised by Hani Atun Mumtahana, S.Kom., M.Kom.
