UNIPMA and UNTL Timor Leste Sign MoU, International Education Synergy Becomes Stronger
In an effort to strengthen educational networks in the Southeast Asian region, Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universidade Nacional Timor Lorosa'e (UNTL) Timor Leste on 26 October 2024. The signing was part of a series of Indonesian Education Exhibitions organised by the Indonesian Cultural Centre and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Timor Leste on 23-26 October 2024.
The MoU signing event held at the UNTL Rectorate building was attended by representatives of both institutions. UNIPMA was represented by Dwi Rosita Sari, S.Pd, M.Pd, Ph.D, and Candra Dewi, S.Pd, M.Pd, while UNTL was represented by Drs. Armindo Maia, M.Phil. This signing is the first step towards more intensive and strategic cooperation, focusing on the development of sustainable educational programmes as well as collaboration in research and community service.
Mrs Dwi Rosita Sari, S.Pd, M.Pd, Ph.D, when interviewed, conveyed the importance of this international cooperation as a significant step to broaden academic horizons and create opportunities for students and lecturers at both universities.
‘Our hope through this MoU is to form a sustainable synergy between UNIPMA and UNTL in various educational activities. This collaboration will open up opportunities for both parties to share knowledge and experience, especially in developing educational programmes that are relevant to the needs of the community in each country,’ said Mrs. Dwi Rosita Sari, S.Pd, M.Pd, Ph. D, Friday, 08/11/2024, yesterday.
She also added that this MoU is not just a formal document, but a strong foundation for realising real cooperation that has a wide impact. Various follow-up activities, such as lecturer and student exchanges, collaborative research, and community service activities, are planned to be carried out in the near future as part of the implementation of this agreement.
The Indonesian Education Exhibition held by the Indonesian Cultural Centre and the Indonesian Embassy in Timor Leste is an important momentum in strengthening diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Timor Leste, especially in the field of education.
