FKIP UNIPMA Holds PKM Proposal Preparation Workshop, Improving Student Quality and Creativity

The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) held a workshop on the preparation of Student Creativity Programme (PKM) proposals at Graha Cendekia UNIPMA on Monday, 28/10/2024, yesterday. This workshop aims to improve students' ability to write quality PKM proposals so that they have a great chance of being funded, even qualifying for the National Student Scientific Week (Pimnas).

The workshop was attended by around 200 participants who attended directly at the location, consisting of the dean of FETT, all undergraduate study programme heads at UNIPMA, supervisors, and student representatives from each group. In addition, FETT also opened access to the public through live broadcasts on YouTube, so that online participants could also follow the material presented.

In this activity, UNIPMA invited Suherman, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., an expert and PKM reviewer from Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Yogyakarta, who is also experienced as a Pimnas judge. In the material delivery session, Suherman, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., discussed various common mistakes that are often encountered in preparing PKM proposals and provided tips and strategies so that PKM proposals can pass funding. Not only that, participants also had the opportunity to take part in a clinical session in the form of proposal review, where student proposals that had been made previously were discussed in depth.

The chief executive of the event, Mr Yoga Ardian Feriandi, S.Pd., M.Pd, said that this workshop was a strategic step for FETT in improving the quality and creativity of students in the PKM field. ‘Lately, the number of PKM proposals that have been funded has decreased drastically, one of the reasons is that students‘ interest in PKM has decreased because they prefer other MBKM programmes,’ said Mr. Yoga Ardian Feriandi, S.Pd.

He hopes that with this workshop, students will get a clear picture of the prestigious PKM event, so that they are motivated to produce the best PKM proposal.

‘Hopefully, students who take part in this workshop can implement the knowledge gained to improve their proposals. In addition, our main target is to increase the number of PKM proposals that qualify for funding,’ he added.

The synergy between FKIP and all undergraduate study programmes involved, UNIPMA hopes to strengthen student participation in PKM and foster sustainable academic creativity in the campus environment.
