UNIPMA Strengthens International Cooperation at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) Chennai India 

Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) continues to show its commitment in expanding international networks. On 8-9 October 2024, Dr. Sigit Ricahyono, S.S., M.Pd, representing UNIPMA Rector Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd, attended an invitation from VIT Chennai India. The event was held in the framework of VIT Chennai's ruby jubilee celebration and was filled with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Cooperation (MoA) between the two universities.

UNIPMA's participation in this prestigious event proves its active role at the international level. Dr Sigit Ricahyono, S.S., M.Pd, attended as a representative of the Rector who was previously invited as the TECHLEAD Summit keynote speaker. The title of the presentation delivered by Dr Sigit Ricahyono, S.S., M.Pd. as UNIPMA's representative and UNIPMA Rector, Dr Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd. was ‘Cultivating Innovation: How ASEAN-India Higher Education and Technology Can Drive the 2030 SDG Agenda.’ This was done to discuss opportunities for strategic collaboration in education, research, community service, and student exchange through signed MoUs and MoAs.

The event was attended by 135 academic figures, industry players, and Consulate General representatives from 16 countries, including New Zealand, Singapore, and the United States. ‘The purpose of this visit is to strengthen international relations and open wider opportunities for cooperation in various fields, especially education and student exchange,’ said Dr Sigit Ricahyono, S.S., M.Pd. on Thursday, 17/10/2024.

During the event, each campus representative was given the opportunity to present their institution's future vision and best practices. Dr Sigit Ricahyono, S.S., M.Pd expressed his views on UNIPMA's readiness to face digital and global transformation. ‘We are optimistic that after this visit, UNIPMA will be more ready to go digital and go global. This is an important step in improving the quality of education at the international level,’ he continued.

Through this collaboration, UNIPMA hopes to strengthen its position as a university that is able to compete globally, with a focus on improving the quality of education, research, and community service. This strategic step also opens up new opportunities for student and lecturer exchanges, as well as cross-country research collaborations that are expected to bring great benefits to both parties.

The signing of this MoU and MoA is an important milestone for UNIPMA in realising the vision of internationalisation of education, as well as expanding the network of collaboration with universities in various parts of the world. ‘Hopefully, with this collaboration, UNIPMA can continue to improve the quality of education and be increasingly recognised in the international arena,’ concluded Dr Sigit Ricahyono, S.S., M.Pd.
