Improve Student Creativity and Innovation, UNIPMA Faculty of Engineering Holds PKM Workshop
The Faculty of Engineering at Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) continues to encourage student achievement through the Student Creativity Programme (PKM). One of the steps is to hold a PKM proposal writing workshop to improve the quality and quantity of proposals. This workshop was held in the Integrated Lab room, Monday, 07/102024, yesterday.
With the theme ‘Strategies for Increasing Student Achievement Through PKM’, this event aims to provide an in-depth understanding of PKM proposal writing while opening up greater opportunities for Faculty of Engineering students to qualify for the competition.
The Dean of UNIPMA's Faculty of Engineering, Mrs Nasrul Rofiah Hidayati, S.T., M.Pd., in her speech invited all participants to make the most of this opportunity. ‘Take advantage of this opportunity to learn strategies for writing PKM proposals well from the speakers so that they pass the Ministry of Education and Culture funding,’ she said.
Dr Hery Septya Kusuma, S.Si., M.T., from UPN Veteran Yogyakarta, presented as a resource person with material on strategies to improve student achievement in PKM. He not only discussed the importance of creativity and innovation, but also thoroughly explored the problems that often make PKM proposals fail, both in terms of administration and substance. He also shared tips and tricks to overcome these obstacles, so that students can understand how to improve the quality of their proposals and increase the chances of passing the PKM selection.
The PKM workshop was attended by 76 students and 12 lecturers from UNIPMA's Faculty of Engineering. The main objective of this workshop is to arouse students' interest to be more active in participating in PKM.
Mr Slamet Riyanto, S.T., (Vice Dean 1 of the Faculty of Engineering UNIPMA), when interviewed said that every year the Faculty of Engineering succeeds in passing PKM proposals. However, this year the faculty targets that the number of funded PKM proposals will increase even more with the target that each study programme can pass a minimum of two funded proposals.
‘We hope, through this workshop, students will be more eager to prepare PKM proposals and the number of proposals that pass can increase, not only this year but also in the coming years,’ he said.
Through this activity, the Faculty of Engineering affirms its commitment to always provide the best encouragement and facilities for its students in achieving brilliant academic achievements.
