UNIPMA Attends 38th ASEAN Council of Teacher + Korea Convention in Bangkok Thailand 

Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) became one of the invitees at the 38th ASEAN Council of Teacher + Korea (ACT+1) Convention which took place in Bangkok, Thailand, on 6-8 September 2024, yesterday. This event is an annual meeting of teachers and educators throughout ASEAN plus South Korea, with the aim of strengthening cooperation in the field of education.

The theme of the convention was ‘Promoting Happy Schooling and Sustainability in Education’, highlighting the importance of creating a learning environment that is both fun and sustainable. Located at the Berkeley Pratunam Hotel, hundreds of participants from 10 ASEAN countries and South Korea attended wearing their respective pride uniforms, reflecting the solidarity and warmth of relationships between educators in the region.

UNIPMA was represented by the Rector, Dr Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd, who was accompanied by Mrs Brigitta Septarini Rahmasari, S.S., M.Pd (BKH UNIPMA LN Secretary) and Mrs Puput Jianggimahastu Larastika Suryanto, S.Pd., M.Pd (LN Division). Their participation in this event strengthened relationships with fellow PGRI members from various regions in Indonesia and internationally, opening up opportunities for collaboration in the broader field of education.

Various important topics were discussed at the convention, such as improving teacher competence, innovation in teaching and learning, assessment, literacy, and the use of technology to strengthen the education system in the digital era. In addition, discussions also highlighted the educational challenges faced in each country, such as disparities in access to education, low digital literacy, and adjusting the curriculum to the times.

Dr Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd expressed his hope that UNIPMA can continue to follow the development of education, and expand cooperation with ASEAN countries and South Korea in order to encourage the advancement of education in Indonesia and Asia in general.

This annual event is an important forum for sharing knowledge, experiences, and strategies in facing global educational challenges, as well as further strengthening relations between countries in the Southeast Asian region and South Korea.
