UNIPMA Art Festival 2024: A Collaborative Art Performance that Wowed Thousands of Audiences

On the evening of 28 May 2024, UNIPMA Art Festival 2024 was presented as a collaborative art performance. This event involved several Student Activity Units (UKM) at Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA), namely UKM Tjandra Kirana, UKM Dongkrek, UKM PSM Sadhuta Madhuswara, UKM REOG, and UKM TEATER BISSIK, along with the Academic Community. This festival is an important moment to strengthen relationships between SMEs and between students and the Academic Community.

High enthusiasm from UNIPMA residents and the general public was evident on the night. The committee's initial target, which only expected around 500 spectators, was exceeded with the presence of approximately 1000 spectators. This shows that the event managed to attract tremendous interest from various groups.

Not only featuring art performances, the festival also presented open tenants followed by various MSMEs from the Madiun region. This provided an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to participate and introduce their products to a wider audience. The MSME stands offered a variety of products ranging from food, handicrafts, to other creative products, all of which added to the vibrant atmosphere of the festival.

This performance became an important platform for the creativity of students and the entire UNIPMA community to create and preserve culture. The mesmerising performances of various UKM, which featured dance, music and drama, succeeded in bewitching the audience. Collaboration with the Academic Community was also a major highlight. In their busy schedules, university lecturers and staff were still able to participate in the creation, showing their passion and commitment to arts and culture.

The event was closed with a very special moment, where Dr Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd (UNIPMA Rector) climbed on top of the reog head as a sign of respect from the committee. This action received high appreciation from all spectators and participants, signalling how close the relationship between university leaders and their students.

The organising committee expressed their pride and gratitude for the event. "We are very proud of the success of this festival. Starting from the stunning performances of the SMEs, to the collaboration with the Academic Community which was very interesting. In the midst of their busy schedules, the Academic Community is still able to participate in cultural creation with us students, ‘said Fildani Nur Rahmani (Chief Executive), Tuesday, 28/05/2024, yesterday.

The hope is that the UNIPMA Art Festival can become an annual event with a better and more festive concept. The committee also apologised for any shortcomings that occurred during the event, with the hope that this activity would have a positive impact on all parties involved.

"We apologise profusely if there are shortcomings in this event, both intentional and unintentional. Hopefully, this activity will have a positive impact on all of us,’ concluded Fildani.
