BIPA UNIPMA Holds Educational Culture & History Visit to Yogyakarta: Exploration of Plaosan Temple and Taman Sari
Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) through the Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) program held an educational cultural and historical visit to Yogyakarta, specifically to Plaosan Temple and Taman Sari, Wednesday, 01/05/2024, yesterday. Both were chosen because they reflect culture, education, culture and history.
Taman Sari with its beautiful architecture provides an insight into part of the Yogyakarta Palace. Meanwhile, Plaosan Temple introduces the heritage of the Ancient Mataram Kingdom between Hinduism and Buddhism. These two locations are cultural icons that reflect Indonesia's rich heritage.
This time UNIPMA's BIPA activity carried the theme "Getting to Know the Heritage of the Kingdom in Indonesia". This theme was chosen because it aims to provide participants with a deeper understanding of Indonesian history and culture, especially those related to educating them.
According to a report from Devi Cintia Kasimbara, S.Pd., M.A., the UNIPMA BIPA Coordinator reported to the Public Relations team that the participants who attended came from international institutions, such as Lecturers at the College of Criminology, Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST), namely MS. Cristina Virgina B. Jimmy and DR. Shirley Pascual AYEO-EO. College of Education students, Mariano Marcos State University, namely Mark James Barayuga, Midsy De la Cruz, and Naomi Claire De la Cruz. Students of the College of Criminology, Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology, namely Hannah Mira F. Toledanes and Charlie Miguel Chriselle Janne F. Students of the College of Education, Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology, namely Ma. Louisa Zaragosa, Sofhia Domingo, Vanessa Padua , and Bervena Saraga.
During the visit, participants gained a lot of valuable knowledge about Indonesian culture and artistic heritage in Indonesia. Apart from that, they also visited Malioboro, which is a tourist icon of Yogyakarta, to experience the local atmosphere and culture firsthand.
Dewi Triyana Sari, M.Pd., Head of the UNIPMA BIPA Division, said that the participants were very enthusiastic during the activity. "They show great interest in learning and appreciating Indonesian culture. This is a very valuable experience for them," said Dewi.
It is hoped that this visit can strengthen relations between UNIPMA and various educational institutions abroad, as well as introduce the richness of Indonesian culture to the international arena.
