UNIPMA Biology Education Study Program Holds Guest Lecture Exploring Animal and Niche

The Biology Education Study Program at Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) held a guest lecture with Prof. Alice T. Rivera of Neust Philippines, on Tuesday 2023.

The activity which was carried out at Campus 1 of Universitas PGRI Madiun had the theme "Exploring Animal Habitat and Niche".

Prof. Alice T. Rivera delivered the first material on Exploring Animal Habitat, meaning exploring animal habitats. This material is about observing the environment where various animal species live. This can be done for educational purposes, research or for the pleasure of learning about animal life.

Animal habitats vary, from rainforests, grasslands, and deserts, to oceans. When exploring animal habitats, it is very important to respect their lives and ensure that they do not disturb the balance of the ecosystem.

Meanwhile, Niche means animal niche, which is a term used to explain the specific role played by certain animal species in an ecosystem. This includes how the animal interacts with its environment, the food sources it consumes, how it reproduces, and how it adapts.

Animal niches are an important concept in ecology because they help understand how species depend on each other and the balance in the ecosystem. By understanding animal niches, you will better understand the relationships between organisms and maintain the earth's biodiversity.

So the concept of Exploring Animal Habitats and Niche is to learn important lessons in protecting habitats so that biodiversity is always maintained and sustainable. The benefit of the Guest Lecture, which happens to be the subject of Mrs Nurul Kusuma Dewi, S.Si, M.Sc, is that students get new material in the field of animal ecology and know their habitats.
