UNIPMA – Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA)’s dedication to developing a continuously growing higher education institution that delivers a meaningful impact has received recognition. Through the Radar Madiun Awards 2026, UNIPMA received the Prestigious University award on Tuesday (29/9).

The award serves as recognition of UNIPMA’s journey in improving the quality of higher education while strengthening its role within the community. The Prestigious University title itself represents recognition of a higher education institution considered to have notable achievements, reputation, and institutional development.

UNIPMA’s achievement is inseparable from various strengthening efforts carried out over the past several years. One of these can be seen in the accreditation achievements of its study programs. Of the 32 study programs it offers, 12 have received Unggul accreditation.

Development can also be seen in the increasingly diverse levels of education available. In the 2026/2027 academic year, UNIPMA introduced a Doctoral Program (S3) and a Pharmacist Professional Program. These additions expand the university’s educational services while providing opportunities for the community to pursue education at the doctoral and professional levels.

Specifically for the Doctoral Program, UNIPMA is the only higher education institution in Madiun to offer a similar study program. UNIPMA Rector Dr. H. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd. said that the presence of the doctoral level is expected to address the need for human resource development in Madiun and surrounding areas. “We hope this program can contribute to improving the quality of human resources in the Madiun area and its surroundings,” he said.

The strengthening of academic quality is also reflected in the career development of UNIPMA lecturers. Several lecturers have attained the academic rank of senior lecturer. Meanwhile, research and community service activities continue to generate achievements, including through grants from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology as well as several other institutions.

After strengthening quality at the study program and academic resource levels, UNIPMA is now preparing for institutional reaccreditation. The preparation of documents is one of the stages currently being accelerated, with a target for submission by the end of the year. The university is also aiming to improve its institutional accreditation to the Unggul level.

“We will make every effort to improve our institutional accreditation to Unggul. We have already started moving in that direction. Hopefully, by the end of the year, we will be able to upload the documents for institutional reaccreditation,” said Supri.

The Prestigious University award at the Radar Madiun Awards 2026 is one of UNIPMA’s achievements in its institutional development journey. The award complements the various efforts undertaken by the university, ranging from improving the quality of study programs and developing human resources to expanding educational services.

Going forward, UNIPMA is committed to maintaining quality across various areas. University governance, the quality of lecturers and graduates, as well as services for stakeholders and graduate users will continue to be key areas of focus in the institution’s development.
