UNIPMA Assists Batik Sariwarni MSME in Madiun with Digitalization of Business Bookkeeping
UNIPMA — Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) is assisting Batik Sariwarni, a micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) in Madiun Regency, in organizing its business bookkeeping digitally. The assistance, provided through a Management Information System (MIS), is intended to help make the recording of raw materials, production, sales, and finances more structured.
The entrepreneurship-based Community Service Program (PkM) is led by Halwa Annisa Khoiri, S.Si., M.Si., with a community service team consisting of Dr. Ir. Wildanul Isnaini, S.T., M.Sc., Siti Nandiroh, S.T., M.Eng., and student Gennaro Nathan Wibowo.
The activity, funded through an internal grant from the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of UNIPMA, took place at Batik Sariwarni in Balerejo Village, Kebonsari District, Madiun Regency, on Wednesday (9/9).
The community service team introduced a bookkeeping system utilizing spreadsheets and Looker Studio. The system is used to record raw material inventory, production, sales transactions, and the partner’s finances.
Halwa Annisa Khoiri, S.Si., M.Si., said digitalization was necessary because Batik Sariwarni’s business records had previously been maintained manually in notebooks. “Manual record-keeping made it difficult for the partner to determine monthly profits and identify the most popular products,” she said.
Through the system, business data can be collected and processed into information that is easier to monitor. The management can also obtain an overview of inventory, production activities, and sales results.
The assistance was provided through workshops and hands-on practice using the system. The community service team not only introduced the tools being used but also assisted the partner in applying them to daily business record-keeping.
According to Dr. Ir. Wildanul Isnaini, S.T., M.Sc., implementing a digital bookkeeping system is expected to make business records more organized and reduce dependence on notebooks. “The target is for the partner to be able to use this system for routine record-keeping,” he added.
The program is part of UNIPMA’s efforts to support MSME management through the use of technology. Structured business data can serve as a basis for Batik Sariwarni to monitor business development and determine its next management steps.
