FEB UNIPMA PKKMB, Dean Emphasizes the Importance of Technology and Entrepreneurship

UNIPMA – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) is preparing new students to face the workforce by equipping them with information technology, entrepreneurship, as well as academic and non-academic skills.

This effort was conveyed during the FEB UNIPMA Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB), held at the FT Auditorium Building on Thursday (10/9). The event was attended by 226 students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, and Diploma III in Tax Management programs.

Dean of FEB UNIPMA, Dr. Anggita Langgeng Wijaya, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., CPA., CRMP., said that PKKMB serves as an initial stage for students to become familiar with the academic environment while also understanding the educational direction developed by the faculty.

“Students need to become familiar with the faculty’s vision and mission, management structure, lecturers, student organizations, and facilities that can support the academic process,” he said.

During the event, students were introduced to several student organizations within FEB, including the Faculty of Economics and Business Student Association (Bimafeb), Accounting Student Association (Accseta), Management Association (Magenta), and Tax Creative Student Association (Taxcta). New students also received information about faculty facilities such as the library, meeting building, Investment Gallery, and Tax Center.

In addition, students were introduced to several university support facilities, such as student dormitories, health clinics, parking areas, and places of worship. This introduction is expected to help students adapt more quickly to campus life.

Dr. Anggita Langgeng Wijaya, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., CPA., CRMP., added that new student orientation does not stop at introducing the campus environment. FEB also aims to develop students’ abilities so that they not only master academic competencies but are also able to adapt to the demands of the workforce.

“Throughout the academic process, students will be educated, trained, and developed in both hard skills and soft skills,” he added.

Soft skill development is an important part of the process because students will eventually face the demands of an ever-changing workforce. Communication, teamwork, language proficiency, and the use of technology are among the skills emphasized in the learning process.

This direction is in line with FEB UNIPMA’s vision of becoming an outstanding center for economic and business education at the national level by 2033. The faculty aims to produce graduates who are intelligent, competitive, dignified, proficient in information technology, and capable of entrepreneurship.

In addition to classroom learning, FEB also implements a link-and-match approach with the industrial sector. One of the initiatives is an industry competency certification program designed to strengthen students’ readiness to enter the workforce.

According to Dr. Anggita Langgeng Wijaya, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., CPA., CRMP., the faculty strives to position itself as a space for developing and supporting students throughout their higher education journey.

“We hope that when they are ready to enter the workforce and society, students will have become good, competitive, and adaptive individuals,” he concluded.

Through PKKMB, new students not only gain an overview of academic activities at FEB but also understand the competencies they need to develop throughout their education. These skills are intended to provide graduates with better opportunities for employment in the workforce and industry.
