UNIPMA – Dr. Sri Lestari, M.Pd., a lecturer at Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA), served as the speaker in an International Guest Lecture organized by Walailak University, Thailand, on Wednesday (July 8). The event was part of the ongoing effort to strengthen academic collaboration between UNIPMA and Walailak University.

During the guest lecture, Dr. Sri Lestari presented a session entitled "Choosing the Right Research Design in ELT: From Curiosity to Credible Inquiry." The presentation focused on selecting appropriate research designs in the field of English Language Teaching (ELT), covering the process from formulating research questions to determining methods that produce valid and credible findings.

According to Dr. Sri Lestari, the session was designed to strengthen students' understanding of research methodology in English language teaching, particularly in aligning research questions with appropriate research designs.

"This session enriched students' understanding of research methodology in English Language Teaching (ELT) by exploring how to align research questions with appropriate research designs," she said.

She also noted that the students' enthusiasm contributed to an active and engaging discussion. According to her, this positive atmosphere provides a strong foundation for expanding academic collaboration at the international level.

"The students actively participated in the discussion throughout the session. Going forward, I hope this academic collaboration will continue to grow and create more opportunities for international partnerships," she added.

UNIPMA and Walailak University have previously established partnerships in various areas, including community service, student exchange, and collaborative research as part of the implementation of the university's three pillars of higher education.

Dr. Sri Lestari's participation as an international speaker reflects UNIPMA's commitment to supporting the internationalization of higher education while expanding cross-border academic networks. The forum also served as a platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences between the academic communities of Indonesia and Thailand.

Through this International Guest Lecture, students are expected to gain global insights, deepen their understanding of research methodology, and broaden their academic perspectives. The program aligns with UNIPMA's vision of becoming a nationally recognized university with a global orientation in education, research, and community service.
