UNIPMA— Students of the Sports Science Study Program (IKOR), Faculty of Sports Science and Science (FIKS), Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA), were trusted to serve as committee members in the Tri Dharma Open Tournament Wali Kota Cup 2026 held in Madiun City on 18–28 June 2026.

The basketball championship was officially opened by the Acting Mayor of Madiun on Thursday (18/6). The tournament featured several age categories, including KU 10 FG, KU 8 FG, KU 12 PA/PI, KU 14 PA/PI, and KU 16 PA, as well as other categories, with participants coming from various regions such as Madiun, Surabaya, and Jakarta.

The matches were held at GOR Wilis Madiun City and Gang Tengah Arena (GTA), Jalan Barito, Madiun City.

The involvement of IKOR UNIPMA students was the result of collaboration between the IKOR Student Association (HMPS IKOR) and the Indonesian Basketball Association (PERBASI) Madiun City in organizing the Tri Dharma Wali Kota Cup Open Tournament 2026.

All HMPS IKOR members and several IKOR students were directly involved as organizing committee members throughout the competition under the supervision of the academic advisor, Dr. Pratama Dharmika Nugraha, S.Si., M.Or.

Yeyes, one of the IKOR UNIPMA students involved in the committee, said that this involvement provided an important experience in understanding sports event management directly.

“IKOR students were trusted to be committee members in this championship. We gained new experiences, from match coordination, event management, to teamwork on the field,” he said on Saturday (20/6).

He added that student involvement in sports activities in Madiun City is expected to continue as a form of real contribution from students to society.

In addition to being part of the 108th Anniversary of Madiun City, the tournament also served as a means of developing students’ organizational and communication skills in the field of sports.

HMPS IKOR hopes that cooperation with PERBASI Madiun City and Tri Dharma can continue to strengthen synergy between universities and the City Government, as well as encourage students to actively contribute to community sports activities.
