Panggungan Historical Tourism Website Launched, UNIPMA Strengthens Digital Literacy and Tourism Promotion in Madiun

UNIPMA – The Information Systems Study Program (SI) of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) officially launched the historical tourism website “kawistaprawiropangongangan.com” along with the soft opening of the Heritage Walk & City Tour Secretariat of Pokdarwis Kawista Prawiro Pangongangan at Jalan Pandan No. 2, Pangongangan Village, Madiun City, Sunday (22/6), yesterday.

The website launch was inaugurated by the Acting Mayor of Madiun, Bagus Panuntun. The event was also attended by the Manguharjo District Head Lita Febriana Hapsari, S.STP., M.Si., the Pangongangan Village Head Eva Anjarika, S.STP., M.A.P., the Chair of Historie van Madiun (HVM) Septian Dwita Kharisma, community leaders, as well as the development team from the SI Study Program of UNIPMA’s Faculty of Engineering and CV Pandawa Digital Media.

The development team was led by the Head of the Information Systems Study Program at UNIPMA, Ridho Pamungkas, S.Kom., M.Kom., accompanied by SI lecturers Dimas Setiawan, S.Kom., M.Kom., Eka Resty Novieta Sari, S.Pd., M.Pd., as well as student participants of the MBKM internship grant program. From the industry partner side, CV Pandawa Digital Media was represented by Candra Pamungkas, S.Kom.

Ridho Pamungkas, S.Kom., M.Kom., said that the website was developed as an information platform for historical tourism based on destination packages in Pangongangan Village. “In Pangongangan there are around 11 to 12 historical tourism destinations. These destinations are packaged into tour packages so that visitors do not only come to one location, but also understand the history of Panggungan as a whole,” he said.

He explained that several locations included in the tour package include Pohon Kembar, Pengungsen, Pangeranan, and the palace area which has historical connections with the development of Madiun in the past.

The website development began last year through the Community Service Program (Abdimas) funded by an LPPM UNIPMA grant and continued this year with funding support from the DRTPM Grant (Directorate of Research, Technology, and Community Service) under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.

In its development process, the SI Study Program of UNIPMA collaborated with the historical community Historie van Madiun (HVM), the Madiun City Government, Pangongangan Village Office, and CV Pandawa Digital Media. “The main challenge in developing this website is collecting and compiling historical data. Therefore, we collaborated with HVM to ensure the information presented is clearer and well-structured,” said Ridho Pamungkas, S.Kom., M.Kom.

The website kawistaprawiropanggungan.com is designed as a promotional medium for historical tourism as well as a digital information center that can be accessed by the wider public, including international tourists.

According to Ridho Pamungkas, S.Kom., M.Kom., the website is considered more effective than social media in expanding tourism information reach because it is more accessible to users from outside the region and even abroad.

In addition to developing the website, the UNIPMA Abdimas team also prepared training for tour guides, including English language training to support services for foreign tourists.

This program is part of the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education through strengthening practice-based learning and developing student competencies in digital technology and technopreneurship. “We do not only provide training, but also help build a digital system that can be utilized sustainably by the community,” said Ridho Pamungkas, S.Kom., M.Kom.

Through the Abdimas program, the UNIPMA team also provided training on website development and management for the Pangongangan Village community. The website is designed as an integrated information center containing village programs, community communication media, and a platform for promoting local potential.

In the future, the development of this historical tourism information system is targeted not only for Pangongangan Village but also for all villages in Manguharjo District.

This program is expected to improve community digital literacy, expand the promotion of Madiun City’s historical tourism, and support the development of local economic potential based on information technology.
