Together with Herbert M. De Jesus from the Philippines, UNIPMA Law Study Program Explores AI for Students

The Law Study Program of the Faculty of Law (FH), Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA), continues to bring innovation in learning with a global perspective. One of these initiatives is a guest lecture titled “Artificial Intelligence for Students,” held at Campus 1, Rooms 205–206, on Friday (April 10).

The event featured Assistant Professor Herbert M. De Jesus from Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC), Philippines, who was accompanied by international students Miya Andrea R. Gonzales, Rica Alyanna R. Pelagio, and Lei Raporada. Their presence brought a new color to the learning process while also broadening cross-border perspectives for students.

The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Siska Diana Sari, S.H., M.H., who expressed her appreciation for the international-scale academic activity. She considered the program a strategic step in improving the quality of education within the faculty.

“We highly appreciate the Law Study Program for organizing this International Guest Lecture. This activity serves as valuable input for academic development, while also supporting preparations for reaccreditation toward an excellent rating,” she said.

Also present at the event were the Head of the Law Study Program, Dr. Sulistya Eviningrum, S.H., M.H., law lecturers Bintang Ulya Kharisma, S.H., M.Kn., and Dimas Pramodya Dwipayana, S.H., M.H., as well as Law students who attended enthusiastically.

During the presentation session, Herbert M. De Jesus invited students to understand the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the academic world. He emphasized that AI is not merely a trend, but a technology that has become an important part of learning and academic development processes.

Through two comprehensive materials delivered, participants gained an in-depth overview of AI utilization, ranging from supporting reference searches, data analysis, to strengthening legal research. The discussion took place interactively, with students actively asking questions and sharing their perspectives.

This activity served as an academic space that brought together international and national perspectives in an open forum. Students not only gained new knowledge but were also encouraged to think critically about using technology wisely and in accordance with academic ethics.

With the successful implementation of this guest lecture, the UNIPMA Law Study Program reaffirmed its commitment to producing graduates who are adaptive, globally minded, and ready to face the challenges of the digital era. Learning is no longer limited to theory but has evolved into a contextual experience relevant to future needs.
