Enhancing the Quality of Digital Learning, UNIPMA Holds ELMA Training for Lecturers
Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) continues to strengthen the quality of digital-based learning by organizing ELMA (E-Learning Management) Training for lecturers within the campus environment. This activity is part of the university’s efforts to encourage the use of modern learning technologies, including the integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in the teaching and learning process.
The training began with a socialization stage conducted online from the Office of Learning Development Center, Campus 1 UNIPMA, 3rd floor. After attending the socialization session, lecturers were given an independent assignment to develop ELMA-based learning materials until April 2.
As the highlight of the program, a workshop will be held on April 2 at the Integrated Laboratory Meeting Hall of UNIPMA. During the event, lecturers will present the results of their learning material development for one course they teach, while also receiving guidance from the faculty mentoring team.
The lecturer in charge of the activity, Muh. Nur Luthfi Azis, S.Kom., M.Kom., explained that this training aims to improve the quality of digital learning while strengthening lecturers’ abilities in utilizing the latest technologies.
“This training aims to improve the quality of digital-based learning. Through this activity, lecturers are trained to create learning courses that can be used in the teaching and learning process by utilizing Generative Artificial Intelligence technology,” he explained on Friday (13/3).
He added that mastering this technology is important so that lecturers can adapt to increasingly rapid technological developments, while also using AI as a companion in the learning process.
“The hope is that lecturers will not fall behind students in terms of mastering technology. Generative AI can be used as a personal assistant or companion in digital learning in the classroom,” he said.
This ELMA training also invited university leaders, including the Rector and Vice Rectors, and was attended by all lecturers within the UNIPMA environment.
During the training, participants will be trained to integrate the Semester Learning Plan (RPS), lecture materials, and the assessment process into the campus ELMA Learning Management System. In addition, the training also teaches how to combine the system with Generative AI technology to support a more innovative and interactive learning process.
The training materials are prepared based on the official guidelines for the use of Generative AI in learning issued by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. Through this activity, UNIPMA hopes that lecturers will be able to optimize digital learning platforms while creating a more adaptive and relevant learning experience in line with technological developments.
