Chairman of PII Madiun City Branch, Teguh Manungku Susatya, emphasized that the main challenge for engineers today is balancing technological advancement with environmental sustainability. According to him, the implementation of occupational safety, health, and environment (K3L) must become a work culture, not merely an administrative requirement.

“A great engineer is not measured by position, but by the ability to ensure occupational safety and health, including guaranteeing that every worker can return home safely,” he said.

He also encouraged students of the Faculty of Engineering UNIPMA not to be complacent with merely obtaining a degree. Teguh stressed the importance of strengthening soft skills and hard skills in tandem so that graduates are able to think critically, be solution-oriented, and ready to face the challenges of the professional world.

In line with this, UNIPMA Rector Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., expressed his hope that students would participate seriously in the guest lecture. In his remarks while officially opening the event, he emphasized the importance of absorbing the material delivered by the speaker and applying it in lectures as well as practical activities.

“The knowledge gained from this guest lecture must be truly understood and applied, not just remain at the theoretical level,” he said.

The signing of the MoU and MoA marks a strategic step in strengthening synergy between academia and professional organizations, particularly in supporting the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. This collaboration is expected to open opportunities for sustainable collaboration in the development of education, research, and community service.

The collaboration was complemented by a public lecture themed “K3L in the Era of Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0: Challenges for Students,” delivered by Prof. Dr. Ir. Agus Taufik Mulyono, S.T., M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng. The session was attended by lecturers and students of UNIPMA and serves as an important provision in preparing future engineers who are professional, ethical, and adaptive to the times.
