UNIPMA Builds Scholarship Recipients Character Through Intensive Self-Development Program
Universitas PGRI Madiun's (UNIPMA) commitment to producing students with holistic character is realized through the Self-Development Program (PPD), which is mandatory for all KIP-Kuliah scholarship recipients. UNIPMA's Student Affairs Bureau (BKM) delegates the execution of this mandatory one-semester program to the UNIPMA Student Regiment (MENWA).
"The PPD activities focus on developing students' soft skills and discipline. We want them not only to excel academically but also to have a strong, resilient character, and to be ready to face the world of work and social challenges," said Natasya Engelina, Staff 1 for Education & Training and Cadets of UNIPMA MENWA, who is responsible for the activity, on Monday (3/11).
This program is routinely held every Saturday morning at UNIPMA Campus 1. The materials are structured to enhance the participants' sense of responsibility, self-confidence, discipline, and patriotism. To strengthen the foundation of national insight, MENWA also invited speakers from the local Koramil (Sub-district Military Command).
"The goal is to shape students into independent, disciplined individuals with integrity," Natasya asserted. She added that PPD prepares students to be more mentally, physically, and socially mature in undertaking their studies and community life.
"Through training, coaching, and collaborative activities, they are trained to have a good sense of responsibility, leadership, and work ethic," she added.
A tangible proof of this collaborative effort was the joint training exercise with Merdeka University Madiun on November 1, 2025. This activity was designed so that the scholarship recipients could expand their network and maximize their self-potential, both in academic and non-academic fields.
Natasya hopes the participants can become role models for other students on campus. "The hope is that after participating in PPD, scholarship recipients can be examples for their friends, not only in academic achievement but also in attitude, discipline, and contribution to the campus environment. Essentially, we want to produce students who have strong character and are ready to lead," she concluded.
