Campus Promotion Through Social Media? UNIPMA Shows Creative Ways to Support New Student Admissions
Who says campus promotion is only through brochures and banners? Through creative content on Instagram and TikTok, promotion can be closer to the younger generation. This method was proven by Maulida Rindy Avianti, a student of the Management Study Program at Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA), who shared her experience during her internship at the New Student Admissions Office (PMB).
For 2.5 years, Rindy actively engaged in various activities: from outreach to high schools/vocational schools in Ngawi, participating in education fairs, to creating campus profile videos featured on social media. “The internship gave me many opportunities to learn a lot of things, from administration, finance, promotion, to communication during school outreach,” said Rindy in her interview, Wednesday, (9/18), yesterday.
Interestingly, the digital promotion strategy she carried out turned out to have a positive impact. The content uploaded through her personal Instagram and TikTok accounts was able to attract the attention of prospective students. “From the social media insights, many eventually became curious and wanted to know more about our campus,” she added.
Student involvement in the internship program at PMB has received appreciation from the leadership. Head of PMB, Dr. Muh. Waskito Ardhi, M.Pd., stated that student contributions bring fresh energy to new student admission services. “The presence of internship students is very helpful and at the same time brings fresh ideas that make PMB services more dynamic,” he said.
For Rindy, this experience was not only about promoting the campus, but also preparation for the future. “I want to sharpen my communication and financial management skills so I can be more prepared to face the professional world,” she said.
Through her story, Rindy wants to show that students can play a significant role in campus branding. Creative promotion, close to the younger generation, and at the same time, providing real benefits for the university.
