The art stage at the 2025 PORSENASMA V PT PGRI National Student Sports and Arts Week once again attracted attention. This time, the keroncong singing category brought a different atmosphere that mesmerized the audience.

Held in the Meeting Room of the Integrated Lab at Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) on Thursday, August 7, 2025, the competition served as a platform for PGRI university students from across Indonesia to showcase their best abilities in performing keroncong songs with deep emotion.

The event coordinator, Hartini, S.Sn., M.Pd., stated that this event was not just a competition but also a means of preserving keroncong music, which is rich in artistic value. “Not everyone can sing keroncong. It requires technique, emotion, expression, and precise articulation,” she said.

Judges came from various backgrounds, including Surabaya and Madiun. One of them is an active keroncong artist known in the performance and competition scene.

A total of 21 participants competed in this event, consisting of 7 male and 14 female contestants. They came from various PGRI universities throughout Indonesia, presenting classy vocal quality with deep interpretation of the song lyrics.

“These students went through a selection and training process. Their performances prove that keroncong music still has a place in the hearts of the younger generation,” added Hartini, S.Sn., M.Pd.
