Badminton Branch of PORSENASMA V PT PGRI Officially Launched at GOR Cendekia Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA), August 6–8, 2025. This competition not only presented fierce competition among student athletes from various regions across the country but also showed increased enthusiasm compared to previous editions.

Ghon Lisdiantoro, S.Pd., M.Or., as the person in charge of the badminton branch matches, revealed that the number of participants this year experienced a significant increase. “There are more participants, especially in the men’s doubles sector which was followed by 20 universities,” he explained.

It was recorded that 19 universities participated in the men’s singles category, 8 universities in the women’s singles category, 7 teams in the women’s doubles sector, and 20 teams in the men’s doubles sector. Ghon also highlighted the increasing quality of play, thanks to the presence of players who had been part of major clubs such as Jarum and Eksis, especially in the women’s sector.

Regarding the match system, Ghon Lisdiantoro, S.Pd., M.Or., explained that the tournament was organized transparently. After participant data was verified, the committee conducted seeding and drawing openly through the Tournament Planner application during the technical meeting. “Everything was done openly, students could directly see the match bracket results,” he said.

Furthermore, he hopes this event can ignite the spirit of students to continue developing talents in sports, as well as encourage every PGRI university to form student activity units (UKM) in each sports branch.

Ghon Lisdiantoro, S.Pd., M.Or., also expressed his appreciation to all participants. According to him, the spirit of sportsmanship and experience competing at the national level are important assets for the personal development of students moving forward.
