Lens Portrait Art at PORSENASMA V PT PGRI Showcases Perspectives of Students from Across the Archipelago
The color photography category in the series of the 2025 National Student Sports and Arts Week (PORSENASMA) V PT PGRI across the Archipelago was held with great enthusiasm and creativity. The competition took place over two days, beginning Tuesday (5/8), with an on-location photo shoot at Pahlawan Street Center (PSC) in Madiun City. On Wednesday (6/8), the participants’ works were exhibited along the corridor of Campus 2 of Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA), the host institution, and were judged by a panel.
Yunita Furinawati, S.Hum., MA., as the event coordinator, said that this category received high enthusiasm from the participants.
“This event provides space for students to express their visual sensitivity and technical skills in photography,” she explained.
Three professional judges were invited to evaluate the students’ works, each representing Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNES), Harian Surya, and Yogyakarta. Judging criteria included composition, shooting technique, and alignment with the theme.
Yunita Furinawati, S.Hum., MA., also noted that photography remains a popular field, though understanding among students is still developing.
“We often think photography is a big thing because everyone can take pictures, but in reality, understanding is still lacking. Hopefully, through this competition, students will continue to learn and improve the quality of their work,” she added.
