The volleyball branch in the National Student Sports and Arts Week (PORSENASMA) V PT PGRI officially took place at GOR Wilis, Madiun City, from August 5–7, 2025. Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) served as the host for this national-scale event.

Andri Wahyu Utomo, S.Pd., M.Or., as the person in charge of the volleyball branch, said that participant enthusiasm this year increased sharply. “PORSENASMA V PT PGRI 2025 has quite enthusiastic participants. From each edition, the interest keeps growing. The athletes also perform more fully to show their best abilities for achievement,” he said.

The volleyball matches were held with a full competition system divided into four pools: A, B, C, and D. “Pool A is filled by the host, pool B by the previous year’s champion, pool C by the silver medalist, and pool D by the bronze medalist. So the distribution is even to make the competition fair,” explained Andri Wahyu Utomo, S.Pd., M.Or.

A total of 12 men’s teams and 9 women’s teams from various PGRI universities participated in this competition. All matches were officiated by nationally licensed referees. “The referees are from the national level because this event is on a national scale. Meanwhile, for the lensmen and line judges, we involve human resources from the region,” he added.

Andri Wahyu Utomo, S.Pd., M.Or., hopes this event can be a motivating momentum for all teams, including those who have not managed to advance to the next round. “If possible, events like this should not be too rare. We wait three years to feel such a big atmosphere. It would be better if it could be held every year,” he concluded.

PORSENASMA V PT PGRI is not only a stage to showcase athletes’ abilities but also a means to strengthen solidarity among PGRI students from all over Indonesia.
