Madiun City Once Again in the National Spotlight. Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) officially held the opening ceremony of the 5th National Student Sports and Arts Week (PORSENASMA) 2025 on Monday (4/8). Taking place at the Graha Cendekia Building, the opening event was lively and full of enthusiasm. Thousands of students from 38 PGRI universities across Indonesia filled the venue, ready to achieve greatness in this prestigious triennial event.

Carrying the theme "Building Solidarity through Sportsmanship", PORSENASMA V is not merely a competition arena, but also a space for collaboration and connection among academic communities from across the archipelago. UNIPMA Rector Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., officially opened the event, accompanied by the General Chairperson of PB PGRI Prof. Dr. Unifah Rosyidi, M.Pd., the Director General of Higher Education, and the Mayor of Madiun Dr. Drs. H. Maidi, SH, MM, M.Pd.
"We want PORSENASMA to be an event that not only produces champions but also strengthens solidarity among students," stated Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd.

UNIPMA demonstrated full readiness as the host. Various campus facilities and sports and arts infrastructure throughout Madiun City were transformed into representative venues. Over the next six days, 12 sports branches and 14 arts and scientific competitions will be held. UNIPMA itself is fielding 151 of its best athletes and promises rewards for those who win medals. Supri emphasized the importance of non-academic achievements as an added value in student self-development.

Prof. Dr. Unifah Rosyidi, M.Pd., echoed the sentiment. She stressed that the core spirit of PORSENASMA lies not solely in winning, but in building a national network of student solidarity.
"Here, we’re not only racing for speed and accuracy, but also fostering connections within the big PGRI family," she said.

Dr. Drs. H. Maidi, SH, MM, M.Pd., also gave high appreciation. For him, the trust placed in UNIPMA reflects the advancement of higher education in Madiun City. He also views PORSENASMA V as an indirect promotional tool for the city.
"Thousands of guests are coming—this impacts the local economy while introducing Madiun as a friendly city ready to host national events," he proudly said.

With the spirit of sportsmanship and togetherness, PORSENASMA V becomes a meeting point for the ideas, cultures, and achievements of Indonesian students. Madiun City stands witness as sports, arts, and intellect unite in harmony. The stage is set—Indonesia’s future champions are ready to shine.
