UNIPMA and 7 International Partners Hold 5th International Undergraduate Research Congress

Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) continues to affirm its role in promoting quality publications and expanding international collaboration networks. This time, UNIPMA participated in the “5th International Undergraduate Research Congress” hosted by Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), Philippines, on June 26–27, 2025, conducted in a hybrid format—both online and offline.

Carrying the theme “Innovations for a Sustainable Future: Bridging Science, Society, and Economy”, the event was attended by seven partner universities from various countries, including Quirino State University, Bulacan Agricultural State University, Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College, Camarines Sur Polytechnic College, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (Malaysia), and Han Chiang University (Malaysia).

In her statement, Dr. Sri Lestari, S.Pd., M.Pd., Head of the Bureau of Cooperation and Public Relations (BKH) UNIPMA, stated that the congress serves as a prestigious forum for students to sharpen their academic capabilities and scientific communication skills.

“Students submitted extended abstracts and presented their papers in front of an international audience. This is a real and crucial practice for strengthening the quality of publications and presentation skills,” she explained on Saturday, 28/06/2025.

In addition to sending students, UNIPMA also assigned four lecturers to serve as reviewers and presentation judges at the congress. They were:

  • Pujiati, M.Si. for the field of Natural Sciences

  • Dr. Samsul Arifin, M.Pd. for the field of Education

  • Dr. Restu Lusiana, M.Pd. for the field of Mathematics

  • Ririh Anggraini, S.E., M.M. for the field of Business and Economics

The event was officially opened by Dr. Nathaniel R. Alibuyog, Vice President for Research, Development, and Innovation at MMSU. Meanwhile, the keynote speech session featured a notable figure in Philippine higher education, Atty. Lily Freida C. Macabangun-Milla, Director of International Affairs Service, Commission on Higher Education.

Dr. Sri Lestari, S.Pd., M.Pd., further emphasized that UNIPMA’s participation in this forum is not only a moment of international exposure but also a strategic move to strengthen inter-university partnerships and build synergy in student research development. “This is an essential foundation for students to learn how to write scientific papers and establish cross-country collaboration networks,” she stated.

Through active participation in this congress, UNIPMA hopes to continually foster a global, inclusive, and sustainability-oriented academic atmosphere, while also opening broader opportunities for students to publish in reputable international journals.
