Another proud achievement has been made by students of Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) at the 2025 East Java Provincial Student Sports Week (Pomprov Jatim III). Competing at Universitas Airlangga (Unair) Surabaya, UNIPMA athletes successfully secured four medals in the pencak silat competition.

Four UNIPMA students won medals in the pencak silat category, both in sparring and artistic events, as follows:

1. Cindy Dian Pertiwi (Accounting Education) – won a gold medal in Class D (+60 to 65 kg).

2. Fani Farezi (Electrical Engineering) – won a silver medal in Class F (+70 to 75 kg).

3. Bella Sukma Candrakirana (Accounting Education) – won a bronze medal in Class E (+65 to 70 kg).

4. Hidayatul Fitriyah (Accounting) – won a bronze medal in the solo artistic category.

The Rector of UNIPMA, Dr. H. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., expressed his appreciation for the outstanding achievements of UNIPMA students at the Pomprov Jatim III event. According to him, this accomplishment is clear evidence that UNIPMA students possess strong capacities and competitiveness at the provincial level.

“I am very proud of this achievement. It proves that UNIPMA students can compete and showcase their quality,” he stated.

Similar sentiments were shared by UNIPMA’s Athletics Coordinator, Arri Kurniawan, S.S., M.Pd., who acknowledged the admirable efforts of the athletes, especially considering the limited preparation time before the competition.

“The preparation time was indeed tight, but the athletes still showed exceptional commitment and hard work. Alhamdulillah, the results are something to be proud of. They truly fought to uphold the name of our university,” he said.

As a traditional Indonesian martial art, pencak silat not only demands physical strength but also upholds values such as discipline, courage, and respect. The achievements of UNIPMA’s athletes in this event are proof that these values continue to live and flourish among the university's younger generation.

With this success, UNIPMA demonstrates not only academic excellence but also strong athletic capabilities. This achievement is expected to motivate all students to continue honing their potential, uphold sportsmanship, and bring pride to the university in future competitions.
