Upholding Sportsmanship: 24 UNIPMA Athletes Ready to Compete in East Java Pomprov III 2025

A total of 24 athletes from Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) are ready to showcase their best performance in the Pekan Olahraga Mahasiswa Provinsi (Provincial Student Sports Week) or Pomprov III East Java 2025, which will be held from May 28 to June 3, 2025. The UNIPMA contingent is participating in three sports: Volleyball, Pencak Silat, and E-Sports.

The official send-off ceremony was held at the Integrated Laboratory of UNIPMA on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. Attending the event were Dr. H. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd (Rector of UNIPMA), Dr. Elva Nuraina, S.E., M.Si (Vice Rector I), Arri Kurniawan, S.S., M.Pd (Contingent Coordinator), and the coaches of each sport: Andri Wahyu Utomo, S.Pd., M.Or (Volleyball), Nofany Tri Wijaya (Pencak Silat), and Alim Citra Aria Bima, S.Pd., M.Kom (E-Sports), along with the athletes.

In his report, Arri Kurniawan, S.S., M.Pd., stated that although preparation time was relatively short, the team had trained with great effort and unity. “We remain optimistic about delivering the best results. Moreover, the athletes have impressive experience and track records,” he said. He also noted that this participation marks the beginning of the journey toward the 2025 Porsenasma (National Student Sports Week).

Interestingly, this year's athletes come from various faculties—not only the Faculty of Sports and Science (FIKS) but also from the Faculty of Engineering (FT) and the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP).

Dr. H. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., encouraged the athletes to give their best in this event, especially as UNIPMA will host Porsenasma 2025. “Show your best performance and make UNIPMA proud,” he said with enthusiasm.

Meanwhile, Dr. Elva Nuraina, S.E., M.Si., also offered her support and motivation to the athletes. She urged them to stay focused, maintain team spirit, and always strive for excellence. “Do your best in every opportunity. We fully support your journey to even greater competitions such as the PON (National Sports Week) and beyond,” she encouraged.

With strong determination and high spirit, the UNIPMA contingent hopes to achieve outstanding success for the university. Participation in Pomprov III East Java 2025 is also a tangible manifestation of UNIPMA’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 on good health and well-being and SDG 4 on quality education, by developing students’ potential through sports.
