PPG UNIPMA Showcase: A Manifestation of Innovative Leadership for Future Teachers

The Teacher Professional Education (PPG) Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA), continues to demonstrate its commitment to nurturing creative and adaptive future educators. This commitment materialized in the form of the Innovative Work Showcase and PPG Exhibition for the 2024 Wave II prospective teachers.

Carrying the theme "Fostering Innovative Teacher Leadership through Entrepreneurship-Based Showcases", the event was held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Graha Cendekia UNIPMA.

In this showcase, a total of 227 PPG students from various study fields—Elementary Education, Accounting, Indonesian Language, and Guidance and Counseling—presented their innovative works across eight exhibition booths.

UNIPMA Rector, Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., in his opening remarks, applauded the enthusiasm and creativity of the students in presenting their innovative projects. He emphasized that being an educator in today's era demands a constant ability to innovate and adapt to the changing times.

“As future teachers, it is essential that you continuously develop creative ideas, present engaging learning media, and align with the needs of today's generation,” he asserted.

Echoing this, Head of Curriculum at the Madiun City Education Office, Slamet Hariyadi, S.Pd., M.Pd., stated that the role of teachers today is increasingly challenging. Educators are expected to be ready to face the digital era, strengthen character education, and adopt deep learning approaches.

“Teachers today must be able to adapt to technological advancements, build student character, and implement learning that not only focuses on outcomes but also explores thinking processes and student potential in depth,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the Head of the PPG Study Program at UNIPMA, Dr. Ibadullah Malawi, M.Pd., underscored the importance of innovation in entrepreneurship education as an additional competency for future educators.

“Through this activity, students are not only tested academically, but are also invited to sharpen their critical, creative, and solution-oriented thinking in responding to various challenges in the education field,” he noted.

The event was also attended by the Chairman of the PPLP-PT PGRI Madiun, Drs. H. Imam Sujudi, UNIPMA’s Vice Rectors, university leadership, lecturers, school principals, mentor teachers, and representatives from the Education Office.

Event coordinator Dr. Wachidatul Linda Yuhanna, S.Pd., M.Si., in her report, stated that this showcase serves as an effective platform for students to hone their skills in developing projects from the Leadership Project course. Moreover, it acts as a channel for distributing innovative products that benefit both the education sector and the wider community.

“This showcase is not merely an exhibition of results, but a space for students to demonstrate leadership and creativity in responding to real needs within schools and society,” she explained.

The primary objectives of this showcase include four key aspects. First, as a form of the Final Semester Examination (UAS) for the Leadership Project course. Second, as a platform to present the innovative works of PPG students. Third, to enhance student competencies in educational innovation and entrepreneurship. And fourth, to distribute student-created products that offer tangible benefits for educational environments.

Through this event, UNIPMA reinforces its role not only as an institution of education but also as an empowering force, preparing future professional teachers to contribute meaningfully amidst the evolving landscape of education.
