UNIPMA Faculty of Engineering Guest Lecture Explores Industrial Technology Trends and Global Digitalization on Campus
The Faculty of Engineering (FT) at Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) successfully held an international Guest Lecture on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, featuring two key topics: "Trends in Industrial Technology in the Campus" and "Digitalization and Global Trends in the Campus."
The event welcomed two international speakers from Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISATU), Philippines: Dr. Solimar F. Moradas, Program Coordinator of the BindTech Program, and Dr. Lance Jay T. Montalban, Program Coordinator of the BSCS Computer Studies Program. Both shared insights on the latest developments in industrial technology and the digital transformation taking place in the global education landscape.
Held at UNIPMA’s Integrated Laboratory, the lecture was attended by the faculty leadership team, including Dean Nasrul Rofiah Hidayati, S.T., M.Pd., Vice Dean I Slamet Riyanto, S.T., M.M., and Vice Dean II Haniatun Mumtahana, S.Kom., M.Kom., along with program heads, secretaries, and lecturers from the five departments within the Faculty of Engineering: Informatics Engineering, Information Systems, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.
In his session, Dr. Solimar F. Moradas highlighted how industrial technology trends are becoming increasingly interconnected and automated. He emphasized the role of universities as centers of innovation capable of addressing the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0).
Meanwhile, Dr. Lance Jay T. Montalban focused on the importance of digitalization in education and how higher education institutions can lead the digital transformation amidst global trends.
This Guest Lecture is part of UNIPMA’s broader commitment to achieving quality education, as emphasized in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 on quality education.
Vocational education was a central theme throughout the event. By integrating theory and practice while addressing global trends, students are expected to develop essential life skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving workforce.
The event also reflects the Faculty of Engineering’s ongoing dedication to advancing innovative learning and producing educators and graduates who are not only competent and adaptable, but also ready to face the challenges of both the industrial and global education sectors.
