UNIPMA’s PPKPT Task Force with 5 Core Missions: A Real Commitment to Creating a Safe Campus
Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) has established the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education Institutions (PPKPT Task Force) as a concrete effort to create a safe, inclusive, and violence-free campus.
The formation of the PPKPT Task Force began with a discussion and socialization session held in January 2025 at the Integrated Laboratory of UNIPMA. This activity involved the entire academic community, including lecturers, education staff, and students, serving as a platform to exchange ideas, absorb aspirations, and formulate strategies for preventing and handling violence within the campus environment.
Chair of the UNIPMA PPKPT Task Force, Drs. Ibnu Mahmudi, M.M., stated that the formation of this task force is a follow-up to government regulations through the Ministerial Regulation of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Permendikbudristek) No. 55 of 2024 as an expansion of Permendikbudristek No. 30 of 2021. The regulation mandates higher education institutions to form task forces that not only focus on handling sexual violence but also address bullying, discrimination, and intolerance.
"This task force was established to protect human rights, provide assistance to victims, and follow up on various violence cases with a comprehensive approach. We want to ensure that campus is a safe and comfortable space for everyone,” said Drs. Ibnu Mahmudi, M.M., in an interview on Wednesday, 23/04/2025.
The UNIPMA PPKPT Task Force carries five main missions, namely:
-
Increasing Awareness and Prevention, through education and campaigns to build collective understanding about the importance of preventing sexual and other forms of violence.
-
Handling Violence Cases, by providing psychological and legal support for victims and taking action against perpetrators.
-
Developing Prevention and Handling Guidelines, to serve as a standard reference for addressing every report of violence.
-
Conducting Campus Surveys, to map out the potential and actual conditions related to violence at UNIPMA.
-
Creating a Safe and Equal Environment, upholding values of justice, inclusiveness, and rights protection.
In its implementation, the UNIPMA PPKPT Task Force does not work alone. Cross-sector collaboration is fostered with various external institutions, including the Police, the Madiun City Office of Social Affairs for Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, hospitals, and the Legal Aid Institute (LBH) Imparcial Madiun. These partnerships strengthen the task force’s efforts in dealing with complex and multidimensional cases.
The UNIPMA rectorate fully supports the existence and strategic steps of the PPKPT Task Force as a manifestation of moral and institutional responsibility in creating a humane and violence-free academic space.
Through the PPKPT Task Force, UNIPMA hopes to become a role model for a safe campus at the regional level and serve as an inspiration for other educational institutions in cultivating a healthy and civilized campus culture.
