P2B UNIPMA Organizes Mandarin Language Training to Enhance Global Skills
The Language Development Center (P2B) of Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting foreign language proficiency by hosting Mandarin language training. This initiative is part of its global language competency enhancement program, which previously included English, Japanese, and Korean.
Held in the P2B multipurpose hall, the training was designed to help students and the academic community acquire multilingual skills crucial in today’s globalized world. As the global economy increasingly involves Mandarin-speaking countries, this training serves as a strategic step to enhance UNIPMA graduates’ competitiveness in the international job market.
The Head of the Language Development Center, Dr. Fitra Pinandhita, M.Pd, emphasized the importance of mastering foreign languages, especially Mandarin, in facing global competition.
“This training is designed not only to teach language skills but also to foster an understanding of China’s rich culture. Language proficiency combined with cultural insight enhances communication effectiveness and opens more opportunities in academic and professional spheres,” said Dr. Fitra Pinandhita on Friday, December 20, 2024.
During the training, participants were equipped with materials that included:
- Basics of Mandarin: Introduction to pinyin (Romanization system), Hanzi characters, and basic sentence structures.
- Speaking Skills: Pronunciation drills and practical conversations for daily scenarios.
- Reading and Writing: Focus on common vocabulary and mastering Mandarin characters.
- Cultural Context: Understanding Chinese customs and communication etiquette.
The Mandarin training program is also a part of UNIPMA's efforts to enhance its reputation as a university that supports multilingual education. The goal is not only to provide participants with effective language skills but also to give UNIPMA graduates a competitive edge in the global market.
P2B UNIPMA remains committed to expanding access to foreign language training through programs aligned with the demands of the international workforce. This initiative demonstrates UNIPMA’s dedication to preparing its academic community to thrive in an interconnected and competitive world.
