PBSI UNIPMAs Independent Literature Writing Project as a Facility for the Birth of Talented Young Writers

Monday, September 20, 2021. Passing the curriculum collaboration assistance program and the implementation of the Independent Learning-Independent Campus (MBKM) proposed by the UNIPMA Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program (PBSI) provides opportunities for students to be more active and creative in producing a good literary work in the form of poetry, short stories, drama scripts or novels. In addition to the aim of realizing the work that is published in print, the project also provides solutions to the obstacles in the creative process of writing such as lack of confidence, a sense of laziness in starting to write, and publication problems.

For this reason, the PBSI Study Program cooperates with the Wadas Kelir Creative House on Jl. Wadas Kelir RT 07 RW 05 Karangklesem Purwokerto Selatan Banyumas led by Dr. Heru Kurniawan, M.A. The collaboration is in the form of training in writing literary works, editing processes, up to the printing and publication process. UNIPMA students who have passed the study program level selection can take part in direct training at the Wadas Kelir Creative House for six months. However, due to the pandemic, all programs are held online.

The five students who passed the independent literary writing project were Wulan Septia Hapsari, Whera Dhebitha, Panggih Sukma Jati, Niken Utami Dias A, and Betty Nur'aini. The five students are 3rd and 5th semester students at PBSI. Each student is a student who is active in writing literary works, one of which is on blogs and wattpad.

The hope is that in addition to creating new literary works that are ready to be translated into print, students will only participate in literary and artistic creation competitions. The person in charge of the program, Yunita Furinawati, S. Hum., MA. Said that “This independent project of writing literary works has great benefits in the creative process of students. Furthermore, students are required to have a high concentration to realize their work. As an appreciation of the efforts that have been taken, this project can be converted with a maximum of 20 credits of courses related to the writing of literary works, "he said.

Yunita also hopes that this activity will run smoothly for the next six months and there will be no problems. The works of PBSI UNIPMA students can immediately be enjoyed by literary readers, both national and international.
