Creative, Student Community Service of Universitas PGRI Madiun Develops Trash

Entering the second week of KKN Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) students, developing a Garbage Bank through the Garbage Bank Community on Wiyata Jaya Street, Klegen Village, Kartoharjo District, Madiun City. Students target the surrounding community to participate in activities called the Mandiri Trash Bank 48.

These activities include garbage collection, sorting, and recycling. The Trash Bank is held every 2 weeks on Saturdays.

Universitas PGRI Madiun students also contributed ideas and innovations to develop the Waste Bank. One of the ideas and innovations is to make use of used items in the form of donations of used books that they have provided as Reading Galleries in the region. This reading gallery is visited every day by children from the school and the surrounding community.

"This Waste Bank activity is a new experience and it turns out we are able to contribute there," said Bayu Permana, an English Education student. "Hopefully there will be more Garbage Banks in each region so that waste is reduced, the environment is clean and comfortable, and waste can be turned into goods that have more selling points," he added (19/02/2020)
